I'm Vanessa Mantis, M. Ed. I have been teaching voice lessons for 18 years. Being an educator at heart, I earned a Master’s Degree of Music Education in Vocal Music along with a teaching certification to be eligible to teach Pre-K through 12th grade general and vocal music, and I have inspired students of many ages to find their voice and delight in singing!
I have made the decision to close my studio in pursuit of a new career change. Thank you to my students, current and former, for being so wonderful! I am no longer accepting students. I am happy to refer people to other wonderful online teachers.
I started taking online voice lessons with Vanessa after we had to go into COVID-19 seclusion. It's been a wonderful antidote to the stress of this difficult time! When I am singing with Vanessa I am in the moment, focusing on the lesson, enjoying the experience of expanding my range and mastering my instrument. In between lessons I really enjoy practicing with the recordings she sends me. She gives very clear and understandable instructions, and is so encouraging! Vanessa is a master of her craft--her experience is extensive and she really knows how to teach!" ~Julie Taberman, adult student, pictured below~
Helping People Find Joy in Music
"Vanessa Mantis, you are indeed a wonderful music teacher that connects well with your students. You have a unique way of encouraging your students to perform at their best both on and off stage. I am so grateful that you've helped my daughter to become more confident with her musical talents. Keep on doing what you do... we love it."

"I was an adult voice student for many years with Vanessa. Learning from such a caring and talented teacher has been an inspiration. When I started, I had many problem areas that Vanessa focused on and helped me overcome. I am a very shy person and her confidence in me has helped me have confidence in myself. Improving my breathing technique has not only helped my singing ability but helped my overall health. She has expanded my internal excitement about music, added style and grace to my ability to sing various types of music. Thanks so much, Vanessa!"
-Jane Simons, adult voice student
We had the pleasure of having Vanessa teach our oldest son [piano]. She is excellent with children! Very patient and kind. He learned quickly and always looked forward to his weekly lessons. My son's favorite Christmas song is "Carol of the Bells", when he was only 6 she was able to customize it to his level so he could play it at a recital. She goes above and beyond to make sure your child stays interested and engaged! I highly recommend Vanessa! You won't find better!

"Vanessa Miller Mantis is an excellent voice teacher. I have learned so very much from her in our two years of vocal lessons. Shortly after I started taking lessons from Vanessa, I joined my church choir. Soon I was singing solos in church. A year later I joined the Huntsville Master Chorale, and I actually sang a solo in the Huntsville Master Chorale February concert. I couldn’t have done it without the marvelous training I have received from Vanessa."

"Vanessa is a wonderful teacher for both one on one lessons and groups. She is highly skilled, patient, encouraging, and great with all ages. She has a knack for explaining things in many different ways to ensure good understanding for the student. Her passion for both music and teaching is obvious."
-Mari H., choir member and office manager at a music school
